The Worldwide Network for Innovation in Clinical Education and Research (WNICER) congratulates Dr. Sanjay Rajagopalan on receiving the 2021 Distinguished Scientist  ACC Award in the Translational Domain. 

​

This award is given to a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) who has made major scientific contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease. 

​

Dr. Sanjay and other awardees will be formally recognized and honored for their distinguished contributions during Convocation at the hybrid Annual Scientific Session & Expo in May.

WNICER congratulates the ATTACC Trial team on the release of interim results that show full-dose blood thinners decreased need for life support and improved outcomes in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The WNICER Network played an integral role in this multinational clinical trial led by Drs. Ryan Zarychanski and Patrick Lawler. WNICER acknowledges the contributions of its members: University Health Network’s Peter Munk Cardiac Centre under the leadership of Drs. Patrick Lawler and Michael Farkouh; Dr. Robert Rosenson who served as the USA National Coordinator; University of Chicago; Mayo Clinic; The Brazilian clinical network led by Dr. José Nicolau of University of São Paulo’s InCor Heart Institute; and The Mexican clinical network led by Dr. Jorge Escobedo of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Click here to read the press release and view results of the interim analysis.
